Learn how to decorate your apartment for fall here!

It’s no easy task to decorate for fall.

We want to make the transition from summer to fall in your apartment home a smooth one, so we are here to inspire your fall decorating ideas!

Labor Day already seems like a long time ago, and pretty soon it will be time for Halloween. In between, we want to make your home a festive fall sanctuary.

Here are some tips and tricks to help you prepare your home for the fall season.

In the Kitchen

With cooking and baking a big part of the fall season, some of us will spend a lot of time there. This is why decorating your kitchen can be the most fun!

Specialty dishes and pumpkin-shaped bowls are just part of it, so don’t be afraid to go all out or keep it simple. Swap the summer linens for cozy waffle-knit towels. Fall candies can easily accentuate a table or counter.

Tablecloths in patterns like orange and black buffalo plaid and centerpieces with a selection of pumpkins and gourds can easily do the trick. Bouquets with cotton stems and pampas grass are great as well.

Household Fall Decorating

Once you get out of the kitchen and into the living room, it’s easy to add seasonal touches to any spot in the house. Adding pumpkins or gourds on tables just like you did in the kitchen can help, or changing those summery pillows over to darker, earthier tones. All these colors and hues can be placed on the mantels or shelves as well.

Layering is a great way to give an autumnal feel to your rooms. Knit blankets and fuzzy pillows are great, and the art on the tables and walls can be switched to more seasonal, fall colors. Burnt orange, ivory, or bigger colors like navy and maroon can make it feel deep and comfortable.

Finally, finish off the fall feel with scented candles like cinnamon sticks, vanilla, apple cider, pumpkin spice, and others.

DIY Means You Can Do It Too

Don’t forget that you can! (If you want to).

DIY can take time, but it can be a lot of fun. Decorate your own jars, cut soaps into shapes, or glue fall frills to those old picture frames. Create floral arrangements and even paint those ceramics you never use. Create your own faux-fall planters as centerpieces. There’s also baking cookies in the shapes of pumpkins or painting leaves with your friends. Whatever you choose to do, fall is here! Enjoy it while it lasts...
